Bond, James Bond (Daniel Craig) was on a mission to retrieve a missing hard drive containing highly classified information that could bring down MI6 when he was shot by a fellow agent... Being 'dead' for a quite some time, he 'resurrected' and reported for duty as agent 007 went he learned that MI6 was under attack and in need of his assistant... 

I have no love for James Bond movies, I honestly can say that... I watched a few of the Brosnan's version and liked them but didn't share any passion on them that I almost skipped Daniel Craig's... Out of boredom and the thought of how interesting Skyfall trailer looked, I watched Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace... Those two intrigued me because Craig was so masculine, rough and tough that he performed so well especially in the action scenes... 

While almost every movie buff out there screamed that this one is the best Bond movie ever, well, I would like to differ... 

Personally, I think that the duration of Skyfall is too long with less edge to keep me glued to my seat... 

There's a vibe in this movie that reminded me of The Dark Knight... Creepy yet genius villain, rogue but reliable hero... The one thing missing from Skyfall that differentiate itself from The Dark Knight is they forgot to show the real dark side of the villain... 

It's true, Silva (Javier Bardem) was extremely creepy with that serious dental problem and homo awkwardness... but there's not enough reason for me to fear him... With that long duration, they should just show horrible deeds that Silva could do... Instead, they just show him running around in disguise in the city which is not truly original...

Nevertheless, I'm not saying that it's a bad movie... Hands down, Skyfall is very good watch... 

The action parts were superb... As expected! The most memorable scene for me is the rooftop motorcycle chase... Very very exciting stuff... If only there were more scenes like that...

In short, Skyfall delivered promising action thrills but the long duration could be filled with something more intriguing such as Silva's terror... 

Is this the best Bond movie ever? I've watched at least 5 of them and I can confidently answer 'No' to that... Is this Bond movie a really good movie? Yes, definitely a good watch and worth your money... I would love to watch it again in the near future... 

Don't hate me Skyfall fans...

Dian (Lisa Surihani) came to Istanbul in hoping to sort of persuade her long time boyfriend, Azad (Tomok) to propose for marriage... In a twist of events, Dian found herself stuck in a same apartment with Harris (Beto Kusyairy)... 


Maybe I was bored or maybe because there's no other movies to watch... Whatever the reason was, yes, I went out of norm and watched a Malay movie... A Lisa Surihani movie...

Despite my scepticism towards local movies, I had to admit that Istanbul, Aku Datang! was rather a good watch... You see, one thing I don't like about Malay rom-coms is that the characters tend to try so hard to be funny and romantic in a very spastic and exaggerated way... However, the actors and actresses in this movie are very subtle and relaxed in their performance, thus making the story more believable and real...

Lisa Surihani... I hated her in Ombak Rindu because her acting sucked big time... Nevertheless, the role she picked up for this movie seemed to fit her perfectly... As Dian, she's very cheerful, outgoing and chic... not to mention, very cute...

All those young fashionistas out there must really love Lisa in this movie because her wardrobe was very adorable... Those colourful skirts and dresses, matched with skinny jeans or leggings... Those fabulous high heels, and head decorations stuff she wore... Cute to the extreme...

Whereas, I really really disliked Tomok's acting... He's very wimpy... Beto was also kinda wimpy but he has a reason to be that way... The story required him to act a bit gay-ish... Maybe I hated Tomok because his acting worked? I don't know... Ntah...

The chemistry between Lisa and Beto is something to praise about... I enjoyed so much watching them together especially during the silent scooter ride... To show much emotion without saying much is something only natural actors can do...

I love the cute and artsy dialogue bubbles and blog drafts that popped up now and then...

The product placement was so so subtle... Maggie Asam Laksa? Brilliant...

The story was very predictable and typical through out most of the movie... When things got quite tense between the three characters, suddenly, BAMM! there's a twist... A nice trick there by the writer... There's so much obvious foreshadowing in the story that I thought it's gonna be predictable til the very end... That was until the ring was presented to Lisa... By who? Heheh... Can't spoil it to those who haven't watched...

Lastly, I would like to say, Istanbul was so visually beautiful... God, I loved to see the buildings and the culture presented in this movie... The Turkish extras were so good looking (I'm saying this in a very manly way)... Ngeoww~


I would like to say that there should be more Malay movies like Istanbul, Aku Datang!... We have enough gangster, horror, comedies and mixtures of those genres already... It's time to bring out something more serious and visionary...

To sum up, I recommend this movie because of Lisa Surihani's cute and subtle acting, the sweet sweet sweet storyline and overall setting and art direction... Brava!

The truth is, from my own experience, you really can't expect anything when you're expecting... I mean, anything can happen when you're pregnant... The best way I can explain it to is by telling about what has been happening to my wifey now... 

She's now being warded at Hospital Serdang because there's a problem with the amniotic water (air ketuban)... After countless times of check ups, the doctors found that the water was lacking and there's a risk of suffocation for the baby... 

I've explained this to so many people when they asked about how my wife's doing... 

No, the water is lacking not because my wife didn't drink enough water...

No, you can't add the water by drinking a lot...

From what my wifey told me, the water is lacking because there's a possible leak... You see, we're first time parents and so, we have no idea how the amniotic water looks like and thus have no idea when it leaked... We're sort of clueless on how and when it happened...

The water is a part of a membrane that's protecting the baby and also the mother... Because the water is lacking, every time the baby moves, wifey feels a bit of pain... Besides that, like I said before, the baby will suffocate without the water...

Luckily, for now, the water is enough for the baby to breath and grow... The doctors are constantly monitoring the water level and baby's growth and health... Everyday, they monitor baby's heartbeat and wifey's blood pressure at least twice... Once a week, the doctors measure the water volume to make sure there's no danger...

If the doctors found that situation is critical, they'll opt for early delivery... Whether it's going to be natural birth or Caesarian, it depends on baby's condition... The doctors have injected wifey with something to strengthen baby's lungs just in case things went risky...

Right now, wifey's been warded for weeks... We're hoping that the water will be enough until baby reach 36 - 37 weeks... Early labour is so risky for both the baby and mother... 

It's true what people say, we'll only appreciate our mother's sacrifices once we've gone through pregnancy ourselves... Even though I'm not the one carrying the baby, but to watch wifey all in pain and being frequently tired... it's tough...

Sometimes when I touch her tummy, I wish half of the pain could be transferred to me so that it won't be that burdening...

I admire my wifey so much... Despite everything, she always always always say, "It's okey... It's for the baby..." and "As long as baby is safe..." 

I can't hold back my tears when she mentioned, "I don't care if I can't make it... As long as baby is healthy..." That one broke my heart... Truthfully, this experience is an extremely emotional one... All I can do keep giving her the support she needs...

A few advice for those who are planning to get pregnant:-

First one, don't make it long distance... As I'm typing this, wifey and I are hundred miles apart... I'm at Dungun while she's at Serdang... I would love to hold her hand right now, brush her hair with my fingers and kiss her on the forehead... Those kind of affection calm the heart more effectively than a thousand words... You can say whatever u want but always remember, actions speak louder... 

Next, choose your hospital carefully... The one wifey is in now is unfortunately not that good in terms of facility, food and treatment from the nurse... There are so many pregnant ladies in the hospital but there are only two scanner to be utilized for check ups... Even the doctors complain about the hospital not having enough budget... Besides that, the food sucks and the nurses are so so so rude... Well, there are a few nice nurses but some of the ones taking care of my wifey got serious issues... Where's the fucking sincerity?? 

Therefore, before registering for anything, just ask your friends, neighbours and anyone who were pregnant before about which hospitals they went and their opinions of them... We're definitely going to Hospital Putrajaya next time because we heard positive reviews on it...

Always always always go for regular check ups because they're important... During each session, the doctors will check your and your baby's growth and health... Don't ever skip an appointment... Take my wife for example... If she didn't go for her appointment, she might be at home now, clueless and unaware of the danger...

Take plenty of rest and relax... Pregnancy can be a fragile thing... My colleague who's two months pregnant is now warded because she experienced some bleeding because she's been driving a lot... Fortunately, the foetus is fine... Do not lift heavy things... Leave it to the husbands...  

Okey, that's it for now... I'll post other tips if I can come up with some... Bare in mind that these are solely based on my own experience and this is from a father to be's perspective...
