...or most of u would like to call it Fast & Furious 5: Rio Heist...
THE STORY
U might want to watch the previous Fast & Furious series or otherwise, u'll be a bit lost... The story happens before Tokyo Drift which explains why u see Han alive...
Basically, it's about Dominic (Vin Diesel), Mia (Jordana Brewster) and Brian (Paul Walker) wanting to free themselves from being hunted by US federal agents for committing several crimes... Therefore, after a few rough happenings, they decided to rob the most influential mobster in Rio and the fruit from the robbery will be enough for them to spend their lives comfortably under the radar (especially when Mia is now pregnant)... Joining them is their awesome former associates and business partners...
THE AWESOMENESS
Action
Forget about the rest... Just focus on the action! I'm telling u, the action scenes are so intense and engaging, I was glued to my seat through out the movie... The car chases, especially at the climax, are superb and also very very destructive... Besides that, the actors also put up a brawl with each other... Dwayne Johnson VS Vin Diesel... Damn, talk about clash of the titans...
The director, Justin Lin, was smart enough to prolong each action scene into a satisfactory amount of time for the audience to enjoy... Yeay for Justin Lin!
The Fast & Furious Formula
Hot rides and hot babes... Yeah, that's the formula... The ride that caught my attention the most was the armored vehicle used by Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson)... Sweet!
Yeah, I know... U're saying that my taste in cars is kinda weird... An armored car?? Pfftt... Well, I guess I'm not a speedy or sporty person... I want my ride to be tough... Even though u might complain about that, I'm sure that all of u would agree on this - Gisele Harabo (Gal Gadot) is freakin' hot...
However, some might notice that this time around, there no racing involved since the main 'job' is on the heist...
Humor
The script is rather entertaining as it managed to win many laughs from the audience... It's like putting cherry on top of a delicious cupcake... It makes the movie more favorable... However, not all of the audience liked it... For instance, the guy who was beside me made a remark - "This movie is turning into a Mr. Bean kinda movie..."... I admit that the lines are a bit cheesy... but lighten up dude! The action part is still the main focus and u don't see car chases and gunfights and brawls in a Mr. Bean movie...
THE LESS AWESOME
The Plot
The plot is a bit off... Some scenes seemed to not relate to the other... For example, the training to surpass the 10 seconds camera rotation... After all the time spent for the training, they decided not to use the plan? Hmm... that left me a bit disappointed... However, I'm sure Fast & Furious fans out there are not watching to see clever story lines or plot... They hunger for sports cars and races~ VRooom~ and indeed they got what they came for... The action part totally makes up for every lacking the movie has...
ALL IN ALL
This movie wont be the biggest movie of 2011... and it wont be winning any awards (as similar to all other Fast & Furious movies)... However, I guarantee, u'll be having a blast while watching it... I guess Fast Five is one of the best Fast & Furious movies besides Tokyo Drift...
There's a surprise at the middle of the end credit... Leticia Ortiz (Michelle Rodriguez) a.k.a Letty is still alive! Dam Dam Dam... That confirms the sixth installment of Fast & Furious!! Vroommmm~~
