Thanks to the movie Armageddon, most of us think that the most possible thing that can bring the end upon earth is a giant asteroid... 

Nahh, an asteroid's path can be altered by shooting massive missiles at it... We can even destroy it with nuclear... Rather than using those mass destruction weapons on each other, it will be better if we use it to defend earth...

However, there's one thing that cannot be destroyed by explosion... and it's path surely cannot be altered... and that thing is the BLACK HOLE...

Did u know that black holes literally eat suns... Uhuh, they feed on everything...

The image above is an artist illustration of a black hole sucking on a sun... Once a sun (or star) falls into it's gravitational field, the sun is doomed... The black hole will drag the sun to follow it's path... If the sun gets close enough, the gravitational pull will shatter it into small pieces... Hell, if the sun doesnt stand a chance, our puny earth is like a plankton being sucked into the mouth of a black whale... 

If you watch the latest Star Trek, u can imagine how a planet shatters once being suck in by a hole...

Being black (or dark), Black Holes are extremely hard to locate... It's like searching for a black pin in the dark... They are only visible to the eye when they are feeding a star... As a hole suck on the mass of a star, a giant orange line will be visible (the horizontal line in the picture above)... 

There are estimated billions of black holes drifting in space...

Owh, and at the center of most galaxies, there are supermassive black holes... which are hundred times larger than the normal ones...



Who knows, maybe our solar system is slowly drifting into the supermassive...
