A group of Alaskan oil drilling team battles mother nature in the middle of nowhere after surviving a horrifying plane crash... Besides the freezing weather, they also have to outsmart and overpower a pack of angry territorial wolves...

Intense

This movie is very engaging and suspenseful... Upon watching, from the start until the end, I always anticipated the worse would happen... Somehow I knew that something was going to happen but I couldn't guess when... Just when I thought the survivors were already in a safe zone, suddenly a wolf appeared and planted its teeth into the flesh of one the guys... 

Emotional and Disturbing

At times, I found my eyes being teary... Most scenes are very emotional in a very disturbing way... For instance, moments after the crash, John Ottway (Liam Neeson) tried to calm down Lewenden, one of the oil drilling crew, who was mortally injured... Ottway knew that Lewenden was about to die and somehow 'facilitated' his passing... The particular scene left a deep mark within me... 

Another scene that I found very emotional is when Ottway and Hendrick (Dallas Roberts) had to unwillingly leave Diaz (Frank Grillo) to die near a river... I shed a little bit of manly tears when Diaz told the guys his first name and gave them his wallet and wrist watch... 

Liam Neeson is Awesome

If u have watched Liam Neeson in the movie Taken, u'll definitely know what to expect out of him in this movie... He always know what he's doing and what to do in any kind of situation... He put up a good fight and he's willing to take on anything that is in his way towards survival... 

In this movie, I could see how effective Neeson's acting is... While every other cast member tried to focus on portrayal of emotions, Neeson also paid attention to his surroundings... He was the only one who remembered to shiver because of the cold weather... It shows how particular Neeson is when it comes to playing a character... Well, that's my observation... 

Cinematography

The director, Joe Carnahan and the cinematographer, Masanobu Takayanagi deserve high praises for being able to create such beautiful pictures... I love it every time Ottway and the others had a glimpse of the people they love... It's beautiful... The part when the plane crashed also wowed me... Totally superb... It left the whole audience speechless... 

Unrealistic

Of course, this movie's not all perfect... The wolves' portrayal was a bit unrealistic, especially when they were attacking the survivors... It was very clear to me that the guys were stabbing and hitting doll wolves... 

However, it's just a small glitch and the awesome acting and other essential elements manage to conceal it... 

All in all, this movie is really a must watch... The acting of not just Neeson, but other main cast members as well is praiseworthy... The picture was beautiful and the scenes were suspenseful and engaging... U'll definitely be glued to your seats...

Owh, by the way, don't forget to watch the post credit scene... It's very brief but mind blowing...
