"Is this a prison, or the world shittiest mall?"

A criminal (Mel Gibson) was chased by a bunch of cops before he literally crashed into Mexico through the border fence... He was locked up in a Mexican prison town and used up every sly trick he had in order to survive...

Mel Gibson is back on screen and now he plays an unnamed career criminal who is very cunning... Yeah, the name of the main character is unknown but the inmates of where he's kept captive in called him Gringo (white man)... I have to tell you that Gibson's definitely a good actor and in this movie, he acts the character that suits him well - a macho, sarcastic and sharp man who is very determined to survive in a very hard place with his own means...

Besides Gibson's acting, what's amusing about this movie is its clever plot... The way the Gringo manipulated every top gun in the prison is very fun to watch...

There are also some action scenes that's quite engaging every now and then through out the movie... Towards the end, the Gringo found himself desperate for an escape and vengeance that he's forced to use more straightforward methods to get everything that he wanted and needed...

To summarize, this movie is very amusing to watch mostly because of Mel Gibson and the good plot...

3.5 out of 5 stars
