Takers Buried RED

Based on its trailers, I expected that the movie RED would be fast-paced and action packed... Well, what more could you expect from the bad-ass Bruce Willis and Morgan Freeman? However, RED failed to live up to my expectations and because of that, I was a bit disappointed... The movie was rather slow paced - it took so long for Frank Moses (Willis) to get everyone (Freeman, Malkovich, Mirren) together... The action scenes could be made better and longer if the process of gathering all members of the team could be cut shorter...
However, the movie was not a failure... The strong point of the movie lies in its cast members... It’s amazing that after 25 years, Bruce Willis could still win an audience with just a flash of his trademark mischievous grin... My girlfriend went crazy every time she saw that grin in the movie... He's cocky, macho and bad-ass - enough traits to convince a girl to go for older men... Freeman, Malkovich, Cox and Mirren also did a great job - they all delivered terrific performances... Malkovich was the most colourful one - he entertained the audience with his craziness and yet be humble enough to not steal Willis' spotlight...
The action scenes were quite good - my favorite scene was when Willis got off a spinning, out of control police car and straight away shot the CIA agent who was chasing him - you can see that in the trailers... However, as I mentioned before, the action could be made more exhilarating...
The humor was not bad... Mary Louise Parker managed to nail the jokes and kill with her comic facial expressions... and I just cant deny that it was fun to see Cox (the Russian) and Mirren got together as old time lovers...
All in all, RED was not bad... With a better director and improved plot, RED could have been made better...
When I was told that the movie "Buried" was about a person being buried underground in a coffin, I wondered whether it could get me interested or not... Well, the movie did not just get me interested, it also played with my emotions and made my heart race with its tension and suspense...
You can only enjoy this movie if you're able to put yourself in Paul Conroy's (Ryan Reynolds) shoes... What would you do if you're in the same situation as Conroy? How would you feel? Just imagine yourself being helplessly trapped in a coffin without any hope of escaping - does it make you loose your mind?
Credits to Ryan Reynolds for being able to portray the emotions of Paul Conroy so effectively... The great camera work should also be praised... Bravo~
Looking at the trailers, Takers seemed like a movie of heist - similar to Italian Job and Ocean Eleven... Well, actually, it's not completely a heist movie because the action part was more in focused... The action scenes were quite good and it took a longer length than the money stealing part... The Hotel Roosevelt shooting scene was the coolest - John Woo style baby!
The ladies would love the line of cast - Paul Walker, Chris Brown, Matt Dillon and a few more - it made my girl went gaga... Bad guys with great looks (they dress nice too) and cool rides - what more can a girl ask for? The most handsome of all in my opinion was Hayden Christensen
Chris Brown did surprisingly good especially during the chase scene - his parkour skills were impressive... and he portrayed the his role well - the wild teenage troublemaker... On the other hand, T.I Harris was awful - he ruined the scene when Paul Walker acted dangerously by stealing the armored truck... Shisshhh... he should just stick to singing...
Overall, Takers was surprisingly quite entertaining~
Next anticipated movie
