Flat Tire

Monday, August 01, 2011

Last Saturday, when I was on my way home from Jusco, I got a flat tire... I didn't know how it happened but suddenly the air just fully gone from the tube... Great... It was 8 pm and all workshops were already closed... So I just rode the bike slowly and I managed to arrive safely...

It was the second time in a week... The first time was on Wednesday but at that time I was lucky because by the time the air ran out, I already reached a workshop...

Like I said before, I didn't know what happened... I checked the tire and I found nothing... Alief told me that some mechanics purposely puncture tires of vehicles to get more customers... They stamp their numbers nearby so that their victims would call them for help... A dirty way to gain money...

So today I took my bike to the nearest workshop... I just pushed it there... Luckily, the workshop was quite near... The guy showed me the nail that punctured my tire and he said it's gotta be sabotage because the nail cleanly went through... It's kinda long too so it's almost impossible for it to stand still...

He hold the nail with his left hand and demonstrated how difficult it is for a nail to puncture a tire when being vertical... He explained it like a teacher explaining a math formula to a student... I just nod... I guess those who know me would be able to picture how the situation went...

Well, he's the expert...

Anyway, I was so happy that I could ride again and feel the afternoon wind in my hair and on my face (since I wasn't wearing a helmet), I went exploring the neighboring neighborhood beside the Christian cemetery...

Being on the streets of that neighborhood, I thought, "Hey, this must be how it feels like to be at a ghetto..."... Most houses there either have used furniture almost covering the gates or abandoned... For example, like this one... Click on the picture to zoom...

However, one particular house caught my attention... There's a miniature Statue of Liberty and a Greek statue in its small lawn... Wow... Click on the picture to zoom and maybe u'll see them clearly... It's the nicest home there...

I made a few rounds and it was kinda scary... One house has a dog that has a cone around its neck and freaky grey hind legs... It's a weird neighborhood indeed...

Then I went home... By my bed, there are three devils... They are tempting me now but I wont surrender... Even though I'm really thirsty but I will bear it...

Puasa! Puasa!
