Scarlett Johansson as the main cast? Okay, count me in.

SYNOPSIS:

Bride to be, Jess (Scar Jo), reunites with her college besties for a bachelorette party in Miami. Everything goes wrong a few moments after the stripper they ordered arrived.

My wife said that this film is like the female version of the Hangover, which I think is a huge compliment and signaling that she likes it. It also means that of course, it lacks originality but whatever, huh? Who wants originality nowadays? Everything is recycled.

Well, this movie for me is a good popcorn movie - the one that I don't have to critically think about and just enjoy it for what it is - a movie that should not be taken too seriously.

I can say that the main strength of this movie is in the cast members. Scar Jo, Zoe KravitsKate McKinnonIlana Glazer and Jillian Bell. It's rather fun to see all of them banter and argue and I can say that they have chemistry.

The thing that prevents this movie to shine all the way up is the script. Being all female, this movie sure has a tsunami of lines and sentences. But out of those spoken dialogues, I could say only 30% of it made me snicker. Yes, giggle. Not a full laugh. So, yeah, this comedy is not profoundly funny. Not to mention, there are so many penis jokes in here that are not funny. It's rather awkward to see how Jillian Bell depends so much on it.

However, it's not all that bad. Like I said, the stars do so well with their characters but the badly written script makes this movie rather passable.

All in all, if you seek for something substantial, you can toss this movie into your list of movies you will only watch only if there's nothing else to watch. But if you're looking for something light and rather stupid, grab your popcorn and watch this.

2 stars out of 5!
