Via : Lightweight and Fast Android Browser App

Monday, November 13, 2017

One thing is for sure; I love the Chrome browser app. It is highly reliable and fast. However, I had to uninstall it and look for another alternative because it took too much RAM space. As I mentioned in the previous post, my phone is a low end one and doesn't have enough space to install all of the most reliable and official apps.

Many sites suggested Opera Mini as the best alternative. I myself have tried it and it is certainly a fast browser. Yup, it's lightning fast. But Opera's security and adblock features prevent me to enjoy the most of mobile browsing and video streaming. Some sites, especially those that rely so much on ad revenues prevent me access just simply I was using Opera.

Therefore, I kept searching and finally, I found the perfect alternative to Chrome browser.

Introducing, Via Browser

The best thing about this browser is that it doesn't take up too much RAM and yet the browsing experience is still pretty fast. Besides that, unlike Opera, Via browser allows me to surf all websites without any restraint or blockage. It's definitely the best browser I've ever tried.

Via has a quite simple interface where it doesn't try to bother you with any news or unneeded assistant.

Just like Chrome and other reputable browsers, Via has an incognito feature. But what makes it different is you can set it to always be in incognito. Just tap on the incognito button and it will remain in that mode until you disable. It will stay incognito even if you restart the browser. I found this feature to be useful because when in incognito, caches won't be saved and therefore, less memory is utilized. I don't have to always wipe the cache.

Then, even if in incognito mode, you can restore the last unclosed tabs with a simple touch which is awesome.

As a conclusion, if you are looking for an alternative to Chrome, Via is definitely one of the best choices. It's simple, fast, reliable, stable and lightweight. Just try it.
